Preparing a parent evening from app usage notes

Open notebooks and a pen on a wooden table

A year coordinator asked us to “just put the dashboard on the screen” for a Thursday parent evening. The hall already had grandparents, domestic workers holding younger children, and a row of fathers who had come from shift work. A ranking of minutes in an education app would have been understood as a public scolding.

We wrote one page. It named the app, named the two weeks, and said that a pupil who finished the paper reader at home might show fewer taps. The Bahasa side of the sheet used the same facts, not a looser paraphrase. The teacher rehearsed three sentences, including one that asked families not to complete the child’s streak after 9 p.m.

The evening still had a parent who wanted a chart. That request is common. The script’s job is to decline it without improvising a new policy in front of the hall. If your school cannot agree that a login is not a grade, do not project the file.
