Assessment drop-off reading
We trace where quiz and checkpoint attempts thin out inside an education app, then ask whether the gap is teaching, timing, or the item itself.
Education apps love a completion percentage. A Year 3 mathematics checkpoint that falls from eighty attempts to twelve between item four and item five is a different story from a class that never opened the checkpoint because the topic sits in next term’s scheme of work.
This reading looks only at quizzes, checkpoints, or “mastery” gates inside one app, for one class. We line the drop-off against the teaching sequence, the language of the items (English stems in a Bahasa-medium class are a frequent culprit), and the time of day the attempts were recorded.
You receive a two-page note: where the attempts stop, what we think that stop is, and what we would not claim. We will not tell you to rewrite the whole app. We may tell you that item five uses a fraction bar the class has not met in the textbook.
